Apprentices & Assistants

Apprentices & Assistants

Our apprentices go through a 3500 hour licensing program that includes competencies, work ethic and growth reviews, weekly training and daily work day training. All apprentices will work for 2-2.5 years to get their hours and then take The Virginia Cosmetology State Boards Exam. In order to move up after passes the exam they then must do a MHSG test out to move up to the New Talent Artist Level. We take great pride in our training program and find that our devoted apprentices have been very successful.
If you are interested in apprenticing please call us and we will give you more information.

Meet Ana Camila Acosta Vega! She prefers to be called by her middle name, Camila. She was born in El Salvador, and she moved to the USA with her family in November of 2012. She didn’t speak English, she didn’t know much about the country, as well as she didn’t know what to do with her life. After few years passed, she has learned the language and grew to understand the country. Magically, she has found hair way to Michael Helene Salon Gallery and the hair industry, something that she didn’t think to consider as a career. She quickly realized that hair is something that she really loved and enjoyed. She didn’t have any education in beauty, but she was cutting her hair and doing the colors by herself. She is currently enrolled in the apprenticeship program at Michael Helene Salon Gallery so she can learn how to professionally perform hair services and become a hairdresser.

Fun Facts About Camila:

When we went to see the movie, we both ended up crying and hugging it was just like us in so many ways!
  4. Do you have any recommendations for local restaurant?
